Mission Statement

As members of St. Ignatius Martyr Parish, our mission is to affirm and evangelize the Catholic faith within a multi-cultural community.
We will provide support for all our members through liturgy, worship, religious education, service, and social events.
The shared leadership of the clergy and laity help to maintain a contemporary vision of Church, and we welcome all to participate in the many aspects of parish life.
We want to use our resources and giftedness to go beyond our parish and into the larger community

A Message from our Pastoral Administrator
Picture

Greetings and Welcome to the St. Ignatius Martyr Parish Website!

We are a vibrant Roman Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Louisville Kentucky. In a very real way, we represent the Universal Catholic Church in microcosm. We are a beautiful blend of Caucasian-American, African American, African descent from some six African nations, and Asian-Pacific. This is so fitting as our namesake, Saint Ignatius Martyr, was the first to call the community of Christians - the Catholic Church, - Catholic meaning the encompassing of everyone from everywhere into the one Body of Christ. Here we celebrate that rich diversity in our worship, community life, and outreach.

Along with many areas to become involved in, such as our St. Vincent de Paul Society, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Homebound ministry, and the Hidden Treasures ministry with our Senior Citizens, our parish is home to Head Start and Early Head Start for low-income families and their pre-school aged children in our Newburg area.

Again, in the name of the parish, I welcome you to become more a part of this wonderful faith community. Contact me at any time.
